Disability Showcase Event
At a recent Showcase Event over twenty organisations displayed and presented their service portfolio, which they provide to people with disabilities across the North West Region.
The event, which was hosted by the Disability Federation of Ireland (DFI), gave service providers from the voluntary, public and private sector an opportunity to set up information stands and give individual presentations, informing colleagues from the sector and people with disabilities about the range of services they provide in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
Service
providers presenting on the day, covered the whole spectrum of
disabilities,
including physical & sensory, learning disabilities and mental
health
conditions. During the event the Regional Support Officer for DFI, Mr
Marcus
Hufsky, remarked that “this event will be the starting point of a new
type of
co-operation and networking between service providers in the disability
sector.
The new funding environment will make it more necessary than ever before
to
co-operate, collaborate and use synergies between the wide range of
providers
in the field, thus making best use of limited resources and providing
highest
levels of service to people with disabilities.”
