DFI Guide to Government Policy on Disability
DFI’s newly published ‘Guide to Government Policy on Disability for Voluntary Disability Organisations’ was distributed at the meeting on Friday last 22nd October in relation to the Value for Money Review of Disability Services, attended by Bairbre Nic Aonghusa, Office of the Minister for Disability and Mental Health and a number of DFI member organisations,.
The primary aim of this guide is to facilitate an appreciation of the direction that Irish disability policy has taken, and the implications for our sector. The guide describes the significant changes in Government policy on disability, and identifies the monitoring systems now in place to ensure delivery of this policy.
DFI hopes that the guide will be a useful resource; it is part of our package of supports for voluntary disability organisations in their work to achieve full inclusion for people with disabilities.
The guide is available in hard copy, which you can pick up when you are next in the DFI offices in Dublin, and it will also be available on the DFI website shortly www.disability-federation.ie.
